Kris Bechtel
Kris was born in Milwaukee, WI on January 29, 1964, to Kirk and Jerry Bechtel and was the youngest of four sons.
He was baptized at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Greendale, WI. When he was almost four years old the family moved to Brookfield, WI. They became members of Elm Grove Lutheran Church and there he attended school from kindergarten through eighth grade. He was confirmed in 1978. He graduated from Brookfield Central High School in 1982.Growing up, Kris and his family spent many holidays and vacations in Augusta, WI, with all of his grandparents and other relatives. He felt like it was his second home. When he was older, he would always stop in to see his grandparents whenever he was in the area.Kris enjoyed riding his motorcycle, but in 2004 he had an accident which left him paralyzed. Now a paraplegic and confined to a wheelchair with the many complications of a spinal cord injury, he was unable to continue installing and repairing automatic doors for AEW, where he was employed at the time. Life presented Kris with many challenges over the past 13 years, but he was able to live independently with the help of family and friends.Kris found peace on May 26, 2017 and will be sadly missed by his mother and three brothers: Brad (Julie), Scott (Sue), and Mark (Beth). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.Kris was preceded in death by his father, Kirk, and his grandparents, Robert and Sue
Bechtel and Orville and Val Korth.
There will be a committal service for Kris at West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta, WI at alater date.
