Joseph Wampole
Joseph S. Wampole, “Sy” 63, of rural Fairchild, passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 at the Fall Creek Valley Care Center following a six year battle with cancer.

Joe was born August 27, 1953 in Black River Falls, the son of Adelbert and Margaret (Zimmerman) Wampole. He was raised in rural Fairchild, baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Catholic Church, and attended Fairchild Elementary and High School. For over 30 years Joe was employed by Nelson Muffler in Neillsville. Since the closing of the plant he had worked on the family farm and enjoyed working with his John Deere tractor and collecting the toy versions. He also treasured the time spent with his family and appreciated all the help Kenny Gorkowski was to him and his family during his illness. 

  Joe will be dearly missed by his mother, Margaret of Fairchild; 8 brothers, Kenneth Wampole, Keith (Amy) Wampole, Jeffrey (Joyce) Wampole, Charles (Melody) Wampole, James (Donna) Wampole, Richard (Lisa) Wampole all of Fairchild; John (Joan) Wampole of Osseo; Clifford (Tammy) Wampole of Eau Claire; sister, Joyce Wampole of Fairchild; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.  

Joe was preceded indeath by her father; sisters, Joan and Dorothy Wampole, Catherine McDonald; nephewRicky Wampole; and great niece Monica McDonald. 

 Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, where a rosary service will be recited at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Fairchild, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
