Clarence Skroch
Clarence M. Skroch, 94, of Osseo passed away Feb. 12, 2016 at Dove Healthcare in Osseo.

Clarence was born May 3, 1921 in rural Independence to Mike and Anna (Bambenek) Skroch. He graduated from Independence High School and spent a couple seasons in Mexico working in the sugarcane fields. He then moved to Milwaukee. He married Anna (Piszczek) Schultz on June 30, 1962. He worked as a foreman for a constructioncompany until his retirement in 1986.They then moved to a small farm in rural Osseo where Clarence’s love for working with his hands continued as he worked in his barn workshop creating barn board frames for his step-daughter’s original artwork displayed at her studio. His custom made frames are very popular and often requested by the artist’s clients. This was a source of pride for Clarence.Clarence enjoyed hunting and especially fishing. He always regretted letting the “big one” get away. He loved working the land on their 45 acre farm south of Osseo just as he did growing up on the family farm in rural Independence.

He kept busy with his vegetable gardens, asparagus patches, raspberries, strawberries and fruit trees. Clarence was particularly proud of his beautiful roses; and his grafting experiments with apple trees that were so successful a small apple orchard was established. Clarence was a master gardener in his own right. He especially loved spending time with his family and always enjoyed a good ball game with a hot cup of coffee and homemade dessert. Clarence was a man of few words, but with a quick wit and a very kind and giving heart. He is greatly missed.

Clarence is survived by his stepdaughter Roseanne (Rudy) Henning of Augusta; a stepson, Richard (Cindy) Schultz Jr. of Hayward; five step grandchildren, Amy Bentzler of Osseo, Wendy Nelson of Eau Claire, Melinda Schultz of Stone Lake, JamesSchultz of Radisson and Beth (Jacey) Penigar of Augusta; seven great step grandchildren, Lori, Annie, Shiloh, Ethan, Sarah, Luke and Michael; one niece, Janice Blaschko of Arcadia; five nephews, Don (Judy) Powis of Whitehall, Richard (Fran) Sygulla of Sheldon, IL, Emil (Judy) Skroch Jr. of Melrose, Curtis (Darlene) Skroch andAllan (Wanda) Skroch all of Independence; several great nieces and nephews.
