Julie Sieg
Julie K. Sieg, 60, of Augusta, passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 29, 2016, due to a sudden illness and after a brief stay at the Augusta Area Nursing Home.

Julie Kay Sieg, daughter of Fred and Leora (Gonitzke) was born Feb. 21, 1956 in Eau Claire. She was raised on the family farm in the Town of Bridge Creek, Eau Claire County. Julie was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta and graduated from Augusta High School in 1974. She went on to attend Chippewa ValleyTechnical College where she finished C.N.A. classes and barber instructions before attending the Police Academy. Julie was employed for 19 years for the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Dept. and before she left the force she had attained the rank of Sergeant. For the past 15 years she had worked in a secretarial position with E.O. Johnson of Eau Claire. Julie was united in marriage to Vic Piel before her marriage to Steve Ludwig in 1983; to this union her 2 children were born. Julie enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was a loving “mema” to her granddaughter, Autumn. She was content in the comfort of her home working on her I-Pad, reading mystery stories and watching similar shows on television. She looked forward to her day trips with her daughter and the family vacations to the Wisconsin Dells. Where ever she was she always wanted everyone to be happy and have a good time. She was not only extremely thoughtful and generous, but always put everyone else’s needs before her own, sometime when she didn’t even know them.

Julie will be deeply and dearly missed by her long time companion, Craig Vinopal of Augusta; daughter Kayla Ludwig of Eau Claire; son, Casey Ludwig of Eau Claire; granddaughter, Autumn Reneau of Eau Claire; mother Leora Sieg a resident of the Augusta Area Nursing Home; sister Phyllis and Fred Siegenthaler of Madison and theirdaughter Nicole Siegenthaler; also by other relatives and many close friends. Julie waspreceded in death by her father in March of 1983.

A celebration of Julie’s life will be held Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta. Burial will be at a later date in the West LawnCemetery in Augusta.
