Phyllis was united in marriage to Junior Schwoch on June 7, 1953 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Augusta, to this union 7 children were born. Junior and Phyllis farmed in the Durand area, and then in Bridge Creek Township before moving in the fall of 1963 to their farm in the town of Otter Creek. Before her marriage Phyllis was baptized and became a confirmed member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Augusta. She enjoyed her involvement with the WELCA group of the church and had also served as the church janitor and treasurer for the congregation. With Otter Creek Township she served on the election board.

Over the years Phyllis had helped with all of the farm chores. She always had large gardens and especially enjoyed her flowers gardens of which gladiolas were her favorite. Many years ago she had worked on a parttime schedule in Augusta at the IGA and Gambles stores. With Junior she enjoyed snowmobiling in younger years and always loved playingcards and dancing. In later years doing puzzles, watching the birds and spending time with the grand and great grandchildren was important to her, also baking an endless supply of chocolate cookies for the family. She also looked forward to going out to eat with the ladies on the first Tuesday of the month.
