Janet Schiefelbein
Janet Sharon (Strauch) Schiefelbein , 77, of Fall Creek , went to be with our Lord on Friday, March 11, 2016 after suffering a major stroke at the Augusta Area Nursing Home.
Janet was born on June 21, 1939 in Eau Claire to Lyle and Florence Strauch. She grew up in Fall Creek and graduated as high school Valedictorian.
On September 17, 1960, she was united in marriage to Gordon Schiefelbein at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in Fall Creek. Janet worked as a secretary at Northern States Power Company until the birth of their first child. Then she found her true calling as a devoted wife and homemaker. Caring for her 2 children, grand daughters and great grandchildren brought her great joy and happiness. Janet was an extraordinary cook and baker, making many wonderful home cooked meals, cookies, jams and desserts.
Upon moving to Fall Creek in 1977, she volunteered at St Paul's Lutheran Church in the Ladies Fellowship, Altar Guild, quilting, Orphan Grain Train, church banquets and knitting baby sweaters for Lutheran World Relief.
Janet is survived by 2 daughters; Lisa (Mike) Sell of Fall Creek, and Lori Dehnke of Green Bay; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; sister Sheri (Harold) Page of Fall Creek; brother-in-law Harvey (Helen) Schiefelbein of Augusta; sister-in-law Shelia Thompson of Pigeon Falls; also by many nieces and nephews, friends and family to numerous to list but not forgotten.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon in 2012; father, Lyle in 1992; and mother, Florence in 2011.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 14, 2016 at 2:00pm at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Fall Creek, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held starting two hours prior to the service. Officiating will be Reverend Carlton Kangas. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Trinity Cemetery in Fall Creek.
