Peter Michels
Peter Michels, 62 of Eau Claire, WI, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in a vehicle/pedestrian accident in Siren, WI.

Born February 10, 1954 to parents Leonard and Mary (Barstow) Michels of Strum, WI. Peter grew up on a horse and dairy farm in rural Strum, WI. He was one of 14 children. He, his dad and many of his brothers and sisters delivered milk to residents in the area. Peter attended Regis Catholic High School in Eau Claire, WI. Peter and Bonnie were married on October 19th, 1974 at Holy Guardian Catholic Church in Brackett, WI. They would be celebrating their 42ndwedding anniversary this year.Peter was a successful businessman owning an electrical contracting business, Michels Electric, since 1979. He also had a passion for wine and cooking which grew over the years and was the highlight of many holiday gatherings for his family and friends. Peter also loved woodworking. He built many furniture pieces for family and friends. He and Bonnie also spent many years learning how to ballroom dance. Peter and Bonnie like to spend time vacationing and camping in the summer with family. Peter could rarely sit still for any period of time which contributed to perfecting his hobbies and a strong work ethic. He especially loved spending time with his two grandsons Nicholas and Brayden.Peter loved his family, his friends and his work. 

 He is survived by his wife Bonnie; his children, Andrew (Heidi), Leah (Luke Simington), Dena Olson, and Cody; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Brayden, Dylan and Ryder; his brothers and sisters, Steven (Gerri), Michael (Bev), Ruth (Robert Christenson), Patrick (Susan), Mary Strawbridge, William (Joan), Barbara (Marc Shultz), Anne (Lyle Sell), Sue, Victoria, and Anthony (Hannah); and his mother-in-law Norma Sieg. Peter also had many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.  

He is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Mary; his father-in-law William Sieg; his brothers, Christopher and Nicholas. He also had many close friends who he treasured dearly and spoke of often.

All are invited to attend Peter’s visitation service at Anderson Funeral home in Augusta, WI on Sunday October 2nd at from 2-6pm and the funeral service at the United Methodist Church in Augusta, WI on Monday, October 3rd at 2pm.
