Robert Kutchera
Robert G. Kutchera, 85, of rural Fairchild, passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday evening, Aug. 11, 2016.
Robert Glenn Kutchera, son of Glenn and Cecelia (Benda) Kutchera was born February 24, 1931 in the Garden Valley area of rural Alma Center, WI. As a child his family moved to Humbird, where he attended grade school and graduated from Humbird High School in 1948. Bob was united in marriage to Jean Elizabeth Zingshiem on July 14, 1951 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church-Fairview, rural Fairchild. The couple farmed all their married life and raised their family in Cleveland Township, rural Fairchild. In addition to farming, for several years during the Vietnam era he worked at Presto Industries Ammunition Plant in Eau Claire. Bob’s faith was an important part of his life. He and his family were all active members of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church-Fairview, where Bob had served many years on the parish’s church council and also as its’ president. Bob’s life also revolved around his large family. He encouraged his children and grandchildren to participate in school sports and saw to it by never missing a game if at all possible. With family he enjoyed the annual hunting seasons, trout fishing in his secret spots with his lucky cane pole, watching the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers, eating a meal of Kentucky Fried Chicken and playing with his “Beautiful Little Baby”, also known as Belle his spoiled Boston terrier.
Bob will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his 4 daughters, Becky (Brian) Kortbein, Jeanie (Jeff) Smith all of Fairchild; Julie (John) Bourke of Marathon, Mary Brevik (Rick Janssen) ofStrum; 5 sons, Bob (Debbie) Kutchera of Eau Claire, Jeff (Mylet) Kutchera of Lyons, NE, Pat (Patti) Kutchera of Fairchild, Joe (Lori) Kutchera of Augusta, John (Sheila) Kutchera of Humbird; daughter-in-law, Patricia Kutchera of Neillsville, 22 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren: sister-in-law, Marie Zingshiem of Eau Claire; many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Cecelia; wife Jean on Dec. 17, 2002; son Mike Kutcheraon Dec. 1, 2012; grandson Travis; and 2 sisters, Lorraine Laufenberg and Helen Hoffman.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, where a rosary service will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church-Fairview, rural Fairchild.Burial will be in the church cemetery.
