Mike Johnson
Michael R. Johnson, 67, of Augusta, passed away in hospice care on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016. He passed away peacefully at home in the care of Mayo Home Hospice. Mike was comforted by the many loved ones who continued to visit during his illness.

Michael R. Johnson was born September 14, 1948 to Mary Alice Johnson and Robert Pechtold in Albion Township, Jackson County. He was raised by Gaylord and Irene Johnson on the family farm in Squaw Creek. Mike was cherished and embraced by Robert, George, Dennis and Sandra who kept him in loving thoughts as a brother. He was baptized and confirmed at Squaw Creek Lutheran Church, attended Squaw Creek Grade School, followed by Black River Falls High School.

Throughout his life Mike was a hard worker at whatever trade he was working at. For 8 years he logged in the woods of Jackson County where he had the reputation as the best skid steer operator in the county. He would tackle areas no one wanted to go, unafraid of the terrain and confident in his capabilities. In his younger years he had also worked in construction and factory positions. In more recent years he had been employed by Toddle Inn Nursery, at Fort Mc Coy in Sparta, and was currently driving truck for Country Side Hides of Alma Center.
Mike attended and enjoyed watching sporting events that nieces, nephews and children of his other friends participated in.

Mike will be dearly missed by his special lady, Janet Kriese and family of Augusta; George Johnson and family of Black River Falls, and Sandy (Jim) Kauss and family also of Black River Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, and also by Robert Johnson and Dennis Johnson.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with funeral services starting at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mike, you will be cherished and missed forever! RIP
