Ruth Fitzmaurice
Ruth H. Fitzmaurice, 93, of the Augusta Area Nursing Home passed away early Monday morning, February 15, 2016 at the home. 

Ruth Helen Fitzmaurice, daughter of John and Helen (Gilles) Esser was born May 23, 1922. She was raised in Alma Center, where she was baptized and confirmed at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, attended grade school and graduated from high school. On April 23, 1947, she was united in marriage to Robert Fitzmaurice in Alma Center.  
The couple lived in Humbird, where Ruth enjoyed her role as wife, mother and homemaker. In 1982 the family moved to Augusta, where for many years she worked as a cook for the Augusta School District, working in this position until she retired. In addition to taking care of her family she enjoyed her gardens and looked forward to the annual deer hunt.  

Ruth will be dearly missed by her 3 sons, Dennis and Darlene Fitzmaurice of Augusta, William and Linda Fitzmaurice of Eau Claire, Robert and Susan Fitzmaurice of Augusta; 3 daughters, JoAnn and Gerald LeMere, Carol Mayer and Jean Dyson all of Augusta; 12 grandchildren, Mitchell and LeAnn Balliett Marshal Balliett, Karl LeMere, Kevin and Angela LeMere, Amy and Scott “Gib” Gibson, Scott and Chelsey Mayer, Angela Sandoval, Ashley Fitzmaurice, Adam (Mary) Fitzmaurice, Liz "Joe" Langford, Roberta "Chuck" Joyner, Jacob Dyson; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson; 2 brothers James Esser of Spooner and Claire Esser of Alma Center. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bob in 1982; and siblings, Louise, Giles, Leo, Raymond, Robert, Harold and Duane Esser. 

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at 
St. Raymond’s of Penafort Catholic Church in Brackett. A rosary service will be recited before the visitation starting at 9:45 a.m.  

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta.
