James Bruss
James G. Bruss, 85, of Augusta, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 25, 2016 in the care of his wife and St. Joseph’s Hospice.

James Glenn Bruss was born June 22, 1931 in Milwaukee to William and Laura Bruss. He lived most of his life in Milwaukee where he attended school and had been employed as a welder for the Ladish Company; a heavy equipment manufacturer. He served 6 years in the U.S. Marines during the Korean conflict. When Jim retired in 1992 he moved to Black Rivers Falls before moving to Altoona in 2000, and eventually to Augusta in 2011. Jim was united in marriage to Kathleen Stewart on Dec. 10, 1999 in Eau Claire.
One of Jim’s true passions was riding and rebuilding Harley Davidson motorcycles. He also loved the outdoors, whether it was fishing, canoeing or deer hunting. Through the years he had enjoyed playing pool and you could say he was also a craftsman, as he made several bow knives and other items he displayed in his home. He had always loved music and at one time had played the accordion in a band.

Jim will be dearly missed by his wife Kathleen of Augusta; 2 children, Mark Anthony and Connie Dawn; 2 nieces, Gail Ross and Laurelin Bruss; nephew Dale (Kelli) Bruss; Kathleen’s siblings, Gerri VanDenhoy (Tom Abrahamson), Thomas (Brenda) Youderian, Gloria (Jerry) Erickson, Suzette Biskey; neighbor and good friend Stephanie Lengyl; other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta. Friends may call 1 hour before services Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire.
