Dennis Smith
Dennis E. Smith of Foster, born on November 17, 1961, to Earl and Elvira Smith, passed away March 21st, 2015, at the Luther Mayo Dialysis Unit.
Dennis attended grade school in Foster and Osseo/Fairchild High School. He was employed for 13 years at Augusta Farmers Union-Cenex Co-op in Foster, and for 15 years at Osseo Ford as a mechanic, before retiring because of ill health in 2014.
He was united in marriage to Joelene Sturz on February 14, 1986, and was the proud father of two sons, Ryan and Daniel.
Dennis loved his family, friends, hunting with his sons, brother and brother-in-law, Randy, gardening, fishing and being the neighborhood fix-it guy. He always loved a good joke, especially when cousin Tina was telling a story.
Dennis is survived by his wife Joelene; sons, Ryan (Miranda) and Daniel (Jackie); brothers, Don (Ellen) and David; mother-in-law, Alvina Sturz; brothers-in-law, Randy Sturz (Carole), Chris (Cindy) Sturz, Pat (Kim) Sturz; sisters-in-law, Lynn (John) Thompson, Terry (Jim) Kirkpatrick, Wendy Sturz; many nieces and nephews. He was loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Elvira “Toots” Smith; father-in-law, Jim Sturz; and close friend, Tootie Martin.
Per Dennis’ wishes there will be no funeral, but a celebration of life will be at the Brackett Legion on Saturday, March 28, 2015, from 2:00 – 5:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated.
