Jaclyn Pettis
On Saturday, May 9, 2015, Jaclyn “Jacki” Pettis, 33, of rural Osseo, was called home to God after a fifteen month battle with cancer.

Jaclyn Marie was born January 1, 1982, to Paul and Lisa (Chowanec) Pettis at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Jacki is a 2000 graduate of Augusta High School, where she played saxophone in the high school band, jazz band, State FFA band and National FFA band. Jacki ventured out to college and received associate degrees in landscaping, dairy nutrition and agronomy. She also received her Bachelor of Science degree for marketing in business management.
Jacki's first love was her jersey cattle. She showed cattle at the Eau Claire County Fair, Wisconsin State Fair, Northern WI. State Fair, Central WI. State Fair and World Dairy Expo.

Jacki was involved in many organizations. Her participation in 4H and FFA carried her into her involvement with the Augusta FFA Alumni, where she served as a director and vice president. Jacki served on the Eau Claire County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, where she was the YFA chair, vice president and secretary. She was recently appointed to the WFBF as District 4 YFA Chairperson. Jacki was on the Accelerated Genetics young producer committee for the past 5 years. She was also on AMPI's young producer committee and had also served as President of District 40.

Jacki was the 2000 State of Wisconsin Jersey Queen, which led to her involvement with the Jersey breed.

Jacki had been secretary-treasurer of Parish 5 Jersey Breeders and was instrumental of the Parish 5 show at the NWSF. Her favorite class is the spring calf class, where it doesn't matter what age or if you are a member, Jacki always made sure to bring extra calves with her for the young children to show.
Jacki was also co-editor of the WI Jersey Booster and had also served on the WJBA Board of Directors.

For the past 10 years, Jacki worked at Menard's in the shipping and receiving department. Prior to her cancer, for over a year she was part of Menard's fly team in which they flew to Minot, ND to work. Jacki was also a co-manager for Super America in Mondovi.

Jacki is survived by her parents, Paul and Lisa Marie Pettis of Osseo; brother, William (Mandi) Pettis of Osseo; God son and nephew Carter Pettis; paternal grandparents, Ellis and Marjorie Pettis of Augusta; maternal grandfather, Robert Chowanec of Neosho; aunts, Jean Smith of New Richmond, Roberta Meyer (Jerome Pelzek) of Eau Claire, Elaine (Robert) Waraczynski and Sue Pettis all of Madison; uncles, Steven (Kristi) Chowanec of Osseo, Mark (Pam) Chowanec of Watertown, Skip (Brenda) Pettis of Augusta, Peter (Sheri) Pettis of Platsmouth, NE; God mother, Peggy Petersen of Cudahy; numerous cousins, friends and co-workers.
