David Olson
David Olson, 76, of rural Augusta, passed away early Thursday morning, Feb. 5, 2015, at his home in hospice care.

David Lee Olson, son of Ralph and Linda Lee (Hagedorn) Olson was born Feb. 20, 1938, in Fairchild. When Dave was just a few months old his mother passed away from a sudden illness. After that time he made his home with his loving grandparents, Edward and Selma Hagedorn in Ludington. In the late 1940’s, Dave moved with his grandparents to the Town of Bridge Creek, just north of Augusta. At this time he attended school in Augusta. On January 14, 1956 he was united in marriage to Doris Wittren in Jackson County, and to this union 5 children were born, Pam, Al, Linda, Lyle and Jeanette. The family lived for a time in Racine where Dave was employed by Bell City Malleable Iron Company and American Skien Foundry. After Dave’s grandfather passed away in 1964, he moved his family back to the home where he was raised north of Augusta, and had remained there ever since. While in Augusta, he was employed for over 30 years at Bush Brothers Canning Company, working first on the cooker and can lines and when he retired he was working in the maintenance department. In 1981, he married Sharon Holte at the Full Gospel Mission Church in Wilson Township, and to this union their sons, Dave and Tim were born. Dave and Sharon later divorced. Dave’s favorite past time revolved around hunting and fishing in the area with family and friends.

Dave is survived by his 2 daughters, Pam Yarrington of Eau Claire, Jeanette and her husband, Jim Smith of Altoona; 4 sons, Allen and his wife, Lori Olson of Altoona, Lyle Olson of Eau Claire, David Jr. and his wife, Brandi Olson of Chippewa Falls, Tim Olson of Bloomer; 20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; daughter, Linda Potts; and former wife, Doris.
