Alfred Naus
Alfred W. Naus, 60, of Wilson Township, rural Augusta passed away Sunday evening, June 21, 2015 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, following a sudden illness.

Alfred Wenzel Naus, son of Alfred and Bonnie (Tarbox) Naus was born June 28, 1954. He was raised in Augusta, where he was baptized and confirmed at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He attended Augusta Elementary and High School. As a teen Al moved to Florida, where he worked as a cook in a local restaurant and then took a job laying drain tile. In the mid 70’s Al moved to Okmulgee, Oklahoma and was employed by Sooner Oil and Gas Corporation in Morris. In 1984 he decided to move to Worcester, Massachusetts, where he worked in maintenance in a plastic factory. After his grandfather Ben Tarbox passed away in 1989, Al purchased the Tarbox homestead and returned to Wilson Township, rural Augusta. At this time he worked in maintenance at the Weyerhauser Lumber Company in Cadott until a disabling horse riding accident forced his retirement. Bertha Lane entered Al’s life 32 years ago and the couple shared a wonderful relationship the time they spent together.

Al’s interests were wide reaching from fishing and hunting in Wisconsin; to his love for cooking and raising flowers. Through the years he enjoyed raising pigs and the companionship of his many cats. He was especially fond of country music, whether he was singing the lyrics or dancing, he loved to dance. Al’s family was very important to him. He experienced the opportunity of being a father and grandfather as well as an uncle to many nieces and nephews and their children. The stories that Al told all of them will always be cherished and never forgotten.

Al will be deeply missed by his son, Mitchell Lane of Augusta, and 2 granddaughters, Anika and Mya Lane. He is further survived by his 5 sisters, Lucy Boylan of Naples, FL, Debra Heath of Tulsa, OK, Joyce and Lonnie Solie of Augusta, Theresa and Dave Dekan of Boyd, Patty and Robbie Butts of Osseo; brother, Kenneth and Lori Naus of Boyd; 3 aunts, Florence Dettmer a resident of the Augusta Area Nursing Home, Mary and Duane Cheerhart of Boyd, Patricia Tarboy of Evansdale, Iowa; 21 nieces and nephews and their families; step siblings, Russ Markham of Bateman, Chris and Harold Dekan of Cadott and their families.

Al was preceded in death by his father Alfred in 1970, his mother Bonnie in 1990, sister Virginia in 1954 and brother Tom in 1981.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
