Genevieve Moore
Genevieve Mae Moore, 89, of 4316 Oakwood Hills Parkway, Apt. 316, Eau Claire, passed away peacefully in hospice care on May 19, 2015 at the Syverson Lutheran Home in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Genevieve was born on August 3, 1925 in West Allis, WI, to Roscoe and Margaret (Schwartz) McAdam. In 1931, she moved with her family to Augusta, where she graduated from Augusta High School in 1943. Following her graduation she attended business school in Eau Claire, before she was united in marriage to Merlin, her high school sweetheart, veteran and school teacher in 1948. 

The couple moved to Silver Bay, Minnesota where they lived and raised their children. While in Silver Bay, Genevieve and her family were active members of United Protestant Church. After retirement, they returned to their hometown of Augusta, WI. They later moved to Eau Claire, WI, where they have resided for the past 10 years.  

Since moving back to Wisconsin, Genevieve was a member of the Augusta United Methodist Church, the Augusta American Legion Auxiliary, Augusta Nursing Home Auxiliary and helped with the formation of the Beautify Augusta Committee. She was a dedicated volunteer who received many awards and recognition for willingness to help. Genevieve was also an accomplished quilt maker and knitter and gave generously of her talents. 

Genevieve's devotion to her family went without saying. To her children, she will always be remembered as a loving, kind and hardworking mother. To the many people that she met throughout her life, she will also be remembered as a dear and loyal friend.

Genevieve is survived by her husband, Merlin R. Moore; children, Dennis (Debra) Moore of Champlin, MN, Carolyn (James) Ploof of Sauk Centre, MN, Thomas (Cindy Johnson) Moore of Saint Cloud, MN, Curtis (Patricia) Moore of Minneapolis, MN and Peter (Shawn) Moore of Brooklyn Park, MN; 8 grandchildren Melisa Ploof of Saint Cloud, MN, Christine (Hugo) Tamez of Maple Grove, MN, Scott (Meghan) Moore of Hanover, MN, Alison (Kevin) Lieder of Brooklyn Park, MN, Quentin Moore of Minneapolis, Tucker Moore of Northfield, MN, McKinley Moore of Minneapolis, MN, Madison Moore of Brooklyn Park, MN; 8 great grandchildren, Jonah, Mia, Eva and Asher Tamez, Riley and Axel Moore, Dylan and Morgan Lieder; brother, Eugene (Arlene) McAdam of Eau Claire; and brother-in-law, Donald Gerike of Augusta, WI. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Gerike of Augusta, WI; and grandson Brian Moore.

All are welcome to attend and celebrate Genevieve's life. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Augusta, with Pastor Lon Jury officiating. Services will be at noon on Thursday at the church, with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial will be given to Koronis Ministries, an organization that sponsors a family camp in Paynesville, MN. This was a camp that the Moore family attended for over 50 years. The family would like to thank the kind and compassionate caregivers from the Mayo Clinic Health System- Eau Claire, Syverson Lutheran Home and Saint Croix Hospice.
