James Knudtson
James Knudtson, 73, of Osseo, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, December 7, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire, surrounded by his loving family.

James Allen Knudtson, son of Milford and Virginia (Homsley) Knudtson was born November 27, 1942 in Mondovi. He grew up in Gilmanton, where he attended grade school and started high school. As a teen he moved to the Milwaukee area and graduated from Oak Creek High School. After graduation he worked for a time in Illinois, before moving back to Gilmanton in his early 20’s. On August 1, 1964, Jim was united in marriage to Mary Jane Klevgard at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Gilmanton. The couple lived in Gilmanton until 1972 when they moved to a farm in Osseo where he enjoyed farming with his wife and driving around to check his crops. For over 15 years Jim was employed by the Dairy Maid Creamery in Augusta. His second career was in sales, selling semi-trucks for Gunderson Chevrolet in Osseo, and then switched to selling cars for Keenan Ford in Whitehall. Due to ill health Jim retired in 1993.

Jim loved playing solitaire and had progressed from cards to the computer version. He appreciated old cars and through the years had collected several to restore. He loved spending time playing games with his family, picking on his grandchildren and debating with his younger brother William. He also enjoyed watching Judge Judy and real life stories on television or listening to classic radio programs.

Jim will be dearly missed by Mary, his wife of 51 years; his mother Virginia Knudtson of Gilmanton; 3 daughters, Kim and Garrett Shaw of Black River Falls, Dawn and Tom Daffinson and Kelly and Brian Schwoch all of Osseo; son Daniel Knudtson and Brittany Hooker of Osseo; 6 grandchildren, Heather Marie, James Lee, Joseph Allen, Joshua Thomas, Dakota Jean and Robert James (RJ); 7 great grandchildren, Braxton, Jerome, Kaynia, Oscar, Serenity, Jaxon and Maclairyn; brother William and Judy Knudtson of Osseo; sisters, Anna Mae and Elmer Rud of Osseo, Goldeen Knudtson of Eau Claire, Nancy Jardine of Mondovi; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Jim was preceded in death by his father Milford; brother Harold Knudtson; and Mary’s parents, Archie and Ella Klevgard.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church. Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in the Thompson Valley Cemetery, rural Augusta.
