Rick Bohl
Richard F. Bohl, 49, of Eau Claire, formerly of Augusta, passed away Tuesday evening, June 9, 2015, surrounded by his loving family and in the care of the staff at Aurora 069, Dr. Brandon Parkhurst, and St. Joseph's Hospice.

Richard Francis Bohl, son of Harold and Frances (Thele) Bohl was born Sept. 19, 1965 in Osseo, and was raised in Bridge Creek Township, rural Augusta. Rick was baptized and confirmed at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Augusta and graduated with honors from Augusta High School in 1984. Following graduation he attended the Brown Institute in Minneapolis where he attained an associate degree in electronics technology. With his degree he found work at Nova Medical in St. Paul, Sienna Technologies in Mendota Heights, Entre' Computer Center in Maplewood and Northstar Matrix Service in Fridley. In August of 1988, Rick was united in marriage to Nancy Wilson at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Augusta, unfortunately this union dissolved in 1998. In 1990, Rick was involved in an automobile accident and due to complications following the accident, Rick lost his ability to walk and care for himself, requiring the need for care at several rehabilitation centers in Minneapolis and the Augusta Area Nursing Home. For the past 13 years he had made his home at Aurora 069 on Ferry Street in Eau Claire. He enjoyed his involvement at the Grace Day Services in Altoona, Wagner's Wheels Sunday night bowling team, Very Special Arts Choir in Eau Claire, and the Knights of Columbus of St. Raymond’s parish. He always looked forward to the summer camps that he attended: Special Touch Camp in Waupaca, Wisconsin Badger Camp in Prairie du Chien, and the Easter Seal Camp in Wisconsin Dells. Through the Chippewa Valley Fishing Club he was able to go on various fishing outings and also enjoyed fishing with family.

As Rick's health slowly failed throughout the years he still enjoyed listening to the music of Alabama, and attending several of their concerts. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Rick loved to laugh and sing; in spite of his disability he never lost his wisdom, wit or tremendous sense of humor or his beautiful smile. Over the years he was very fortunate to have been able to attend so many family functions and celebrations. Rick looked forward to going to Augusta almost every Tuesday for Lucky Bucks, where he not only visited with family, but with many dear friends as well.

He touched so many lives and will be deeply missed by his 4 brothers and 5 sisters, Eugene and Pat Bohl of Augusta, Joyce and Ron Thomley of Baldwin, Rosemary and Frank Paulich Sr. of Eau Claire, Ron and Cindy Bohl of rural Augusta, Gloria and Ken Zich of Augusta, Goldyne and John Shilts of rural Boyd, Kenneth and Lisa Bohl and Verna and Ken Grams all of rural Fairchild, and Lynn Bohl of rural Augusta. Along with his 17 nieces, 10 nephews and their families. Rick will also be missed by his loving Aurora family; house mates, Becky, Bob and Bubba; staff, Angela, Laura, Cari, Elizabeth, Eric, Carly, Mike, Brandon, Jill, Jess, Mya, Alan, Megan, Pete, Angie, Kym, Amanda, Brianna, Brooke and Maranda; and very special care giver and wonderful friend, Shelly Benzel, and his compassionate, caring physician, Dr. Brandon Parkhurst.

Rick was preceded in death by his father Harold on Sept. 7, 1989; and mother Frances on Nov. 16, 2000.

A funeral mass will be held Monday, June 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Raymond's of Penafort Catholic Church in Brackett, with burial in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and one hour before services on Monday at the church. A prayer service will be held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

“Rick walked away from us, leaving footprints on our hearts.”
