Doris Zillmer
Doris Zillmer, 93, of the Augusta Area Nursing Home, formerly of Fall Creek, passed away early Sunday morning, June 22, 2014 at the home.
Doris Rosella Zillmer, daughter of Edward and Augusta (Bauch) Knuth, was born July 23, 1920 in Bridge Creek Township, Eau Claire County. She was baptized on September 5, 1920, and confirmed on May 13, 1934, both at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, by Rev. Otto List. Doris’s confirmation verse was Psalm 145: verse 18 and 19.
The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.
As a child Doris attended Dells and Rodell Country Schools. She was united in marriage to Erwin Robert Zillmer on Jan. 18, 1939, in the parsonage of Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta. The couple farmed in the Foster area until moving into the Village of Fall Creek on June 20, 1951. While in Fall Creek, Erwin and Doris were members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Doris is survived by her 2 grandsons, Glen Seipel of Prescott, and Benjamin Seipel of Chico, CA; sisters-in-law, Katherine and Leah Knuth both of Fairchild, Mildred Knuth of Eau Claire; several nieces, nephews and their families, special friends, Jane Becker of Fall Creek, Karen Wahlin of rural Augusta; other relatives and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Erwin on June 1, 2003, daughter Marlene Seipel on April 7, 2002, and siblings, Alfred, Arthur, Roy and Edgar Knuth, Alyce Roths, Amanda Zillmer Semanko, Zetta Randall, Elvina Arndt and Bertha Moore.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fall Creek, with Pastor Larry Borgelt officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the church.
