Janice Sorensen
Janice S. Sorensen, formerly of Madison, passed away Wed. Sept. 24, 2014 at the Dove Health Care Center West in Eau Claire.
Janice Sylvia Sorensen, daughter of John and Stena (Edmundson) Instefjord was born on July 7, 1922 in Eau Claire. At 6 weeks of age her family moved to Madison, where she was raised and attended elementary and high school. For 13 years, Janice had worked at the capital in the department of education. While at the capital she met Volmer Sorensen and the couple later married. Janice and her husband lived in Portage until moving back to her family home in Madison to take care of her ailing parents. Within 18 months her parents and husband passed away. Janice continued to live in the family home until purchasing a condo in Madison. Due to failing health she eventurally moved to the Dove Health Care Center - West to be near her cousin Virginia and her family.
Over the years Janice had enjoyed watching television, working crossword and mind challenging puzzles and traveling with family and friends.
She will be dearly missed by her cousin, Virginia and Del Suitter of Fairchild. She was preceded in death by her father and husband in 1984 and her mother in 1985.
Burial with graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014 at at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Madison (Monona), WI.
