Virginia was united in marriage to Donald Petznick on May 19, 1957 in Manley, Iowa. The couple lived in Iowa, where for 10 years Virginia was employed at Northwestern Bell Telephone in Mason City. In 1967, Virginia, Donald and their young son Steve moved from Plymouth to their farm outside of Osseo, WI. After moving to Osseo, Virginia gave birth to their 2nd son, Scott. In 1985, they moved into the city of Osseo and have resided there ever since. While in Wisconsin, Virginia had worked as the Activity Director for the Pigeon Falls Nursing Home before taking a position with the Whitehall School District working at the school in Pigeon Falls. Virginia loved traveling, drawing, painting, cake decorating, crafts, playing the accordion, the piano, and playing cards with family and friends. For almost 40 years she faithfully served the Assembly of God Church in Augusta, where she accompanied the worship team and was involved in their Puppet Ministry.

Virginia will be dearly missed by Don, her husband of 57 years; sons, Steve and Dori Petznick of Lake Holcombe, WI, Scott and Sherry Petznick of Leachville, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren, Allastant (Chandel) Nuckles of Leachville, AR, Brittany Petznick of Centuria, WI, Gabrielle (Ben) Leone of Souix Falls, SD, Sarah Petznick on the USS Rushmore in San Diego, CA, and Caleb Petznick of Leachville, AR; great grandson, Liam Nuckles and many extended family.
