Lawrence Nehring
Lawrence Nehring, 94, of Augusta, passed away early Saturday evening Dec. 6, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Oakridge in Osseo, where Lawrence had been hospitalized since a serious fall three weeks earlier on Nov. 15, 2014.  

Lawrence Nehring, the second of three sons of Reinhold and Elsie (Kunz) Nehring was born May 9, 1920. He attended Dells Country School, Grace Parochial School and was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta.  

In November of 1948, Lawrence married Dorothy Ziehlsdorff. That year Lawrence and Dorothy bought the Virgil Dickinsen farm, south of Augusta on County Trunk M. After Dorothy's death in 1979, Lawrence married Betty Martin of Bloomer, WI, on April 26, 1981.  

The farm was sold in 1987, but Lawrence continued to help his younger brother Donald with his farm. Lawrence and Betty enjoyed going to the Augusta Community Center where they enjoyed playing cards and pool. They also helped to deliver Meal on Wheels to the Augusta shut-ins.  Lawrence was a humble man who was always willing to help others.

Lawrence is survived by his son, Dale of Augusta; wife Betty , a resident at the Augusta Area Nursing Home; brother Donald (Beatrice) Nehring; nephews, David Nehring, Roger Nehring (Theresa Ann Beck), Ralph Boettcher; nieces, Diane (Bill) Jaeke and Jeanette (Richard) Lange all of Augusta. Lawrence was also preceded in death by his older brother and his wife, Marvin and Johanna Nehring, nephew, Kenneth Nehring, niece, Betty Boettcher and sister-in-law Marie Ziehlsdorff

Lawrence's family would like to express their thanks to the wonderful staff at Oak Ridge-Osseo for the love and concern they gave to Lawrence during his stay there. A special thank you to Dr. Amit Aneja, Hospitalist at Oak Ridge, for the love and kindness he showed towards Lawrence. Also thanks to Maureen and Trenton of the Anderson Funeral Home.  

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta.
