Marion Mielkie
Marion Mielkie, 87, of the Augusta Area Nursing Home, passed away early Saturday morning, May 3, 2014 at the home. 

Marion L. Mielkie, daughter of Otto William Mielkie and Alma Bann Mielkie, was born February 20, 1927 in Lincoln Township, Eau Claire County. She attended St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Foster for over 68 years, where she was baptized and attended Sunday school. She became a confirmed member by Pastor Goestch on Dec. 18, 1949, and went on to be active with St. Peter’s ladies society. As a child Marion attended Plainview Country School, rural Osseo. At the age of 13, Marion moved with her family to their farm in Otter Creek Township, rural Augusta. With her parents, 2 brothers and sister, Marion enjoyed living on the farm and helping her mother with the housekeeping chores. After her brother Lyman passed away on March 1, 2006, Marion and her brother, Robert moved to the Augusta Area Nursing Home on June 7, 2006. In August of 2008, Marion transferred her church membership to Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta. While at the nursing home Marion enjoyed participating in all of the various activities and cherished the many friendships she made. 

She is survived by her brother, Robert Mielkie of Palmer Place in Augusta; niece Carol Cera of Port Washington; 3 grand nephews, 1 grand niece, and special family friends, Ron and Ginger Wilkinson of Augusta. In addition to her brother Lyman, she was also preceded in death by her father Otto in 1946, mother Alma in April of 1984, sister Delores Manor in Aug. of 2004, a brother Russell in infancy and niece Renee Frick

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, with Pastor Jonathan Wessel officiating. Burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery in Augusta. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
