Glen Lewallen
Glen E. Lewallen, 91, of Stanley, formerly of Wilson Township, Eau Claire County, passed away Friday morning, July 4, 2014 at his home.  
Glen Erven Lewallen, son of Walter and Mary (Preston) Lewallen was born Feb. 8, 1923 in Wilson Township, Eau Claire County. Except for living a few years in Holcombe and Stanley, Glen lived all of his life in Wilson Township.  

He attended Pleasant Valley Country School and was baptized at Pleasant Valley Pentecostal Church. Glen was united in marriage to Luana Dickersen and to this union 4 children were born. Luana developed polio and passed away on Dec. 22, 1949, leaving Glen with 4 small children. He later married Margaret “Dolly” Brown on June 21, 1951 and to this union Glen was blessed with 4 more children. Dolly passed away on Sept. 19, 1996, and in August of 1999 he married Olinda Ottum, she preceded him in death in July of 2003. 
As a young man Glen drove semi-truck for Daggett Trucking and Pirkle Trucking, both out of Minneapolis. He left Pirkle to go on his own as a self employed carpenter in home construction and during these jobs he also operated a hobby farm. Before semi- retiring, he had gone back into trucking as an owner-operator, which he drove into his 70’s. Due to failing health Glen moved into the city of Stanley about 3 years ago and up until about 2 years ago he still to help out wherever he could. Throughout his life he had enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, waterskiing, snowmobiling, pitching horse shoes and playing cribbage, especially in cribbage tournaments.  

Glen is survived by his son, Dennis “Doc” and Pat Lewallen of Boyd; 6 daughters, Sharon Schneider (Denny Hinderliter) of Tomahawk, Jolly (Richard) Stelzer, Phyllis (Dan) Acker, Beth Lewallen all of Stanley, Katherine Logan and Sandra Shilts (Jack Engles) all of Thorp; 4 siblings, Claire Lewallen of Stanley, David (Cheryl) Lewallen of Rhinelander, Arnold Lewallen of Eau Claire, Adeline (Bob) Velie of Missouri; daughter-in-law, Judy Gall of Cadott; 29 grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren. Glen was also preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Lorrayne Zuercher, Elmyra Borden, William and Jonathan Lewallen, son Larry Lewallen and grandson, Micheal Lewallen.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with burial in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Wilson Township, Eau Claire County. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and also one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.
