Connie Jones
Connie L. Jones, 67, of Augusta, passed away Monday afternoon, December 15, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Osseo, surrounded by her loving family. 

Constance Leanne Jones, daughter of DeForest and Dorothy (Richardson) Blasier was born May 17, 1947 in Syracuse, New York. She was raised in Syracuse, where she was baptized and confirmed at Lady of the Lord Catholic Church, attended grade school and graduated high school. While in Syracuse she met Donald Jones, the couple was later married there on June 19, 1965. While Don was serving in the United States Air Force the couple lived in Michigan, at McConnell Air Force Base in Kansas, and in Del Rio, Texas, before moving to Okinawa, Japan where they lived from 1973 through 1975. Don’s next and final location with the Air Force was in Minot, North Dakota where they were stationed for 9 years. After Don retired in 1984, the family lived for a time in Tennessee and Arizona before moving to Augusta in 1989. While in Texas, in addition to raising her family Connie worked as a waitress. After moving to Augusta she had been employed at the Augusta Area Nursing Home, for Northwest Homecare and before ill health forced her retirement, she was employed by Nortech Systems of Augusta. Through the years Connie had enjoyed sewing and knitting. While in Augusta, she was instrumental with her husband in starting the Thunder Roads Car Club. She enjoyed the clubs activities and especially attending the shows.  

Connie will be dearly missed by Donald, her husband of 49 years; daughter, Karina and Luis Mercado of Augusta; son, Donald and Sally Jones of Osseo; 5 grandsons, Luis IV and Devin Mercado, Donnie, Drake and Dylan Jones; her 5 siblings all living in the state of New York, brothers, DeForest and Jody Blasier of Otisco, Mark Blasier of Syracuse; sisters, Valerie and Ernest Waite of Erieville, Margaret Blasier of Sulton, Pamela and Michael Smith of Baldwinsville.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 siblings, Sharon Confer, Denise Champagne and Daniel Blasier.  

Memorial services will be private. A visitation will be held for family and friends Friday, December 19, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
