Richard Jackson
Richard A. Jackson, 80, of Buffalo City, formerly of the Eau Claire and Rock Falls area, passed away Sunday evening June 22, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

Richard Allen Jackson, son of Harold and Evelyn (Screeden) Jackson was born Feb. 10, 1934 in Eau Claire. He grew up in Eau Claire, where he graduated from Eau Claire High School. Richard was united in marriage to Susan Jane O’Brien in Dec. of 1952 in Stillwater, Minnesota. The couple lived all their married life in the Eau Claire and Rock Falls area, where they farmed. Richard also worked 39 years for the Uniroyal Tire Plant in Eau Claire. He retired when the plant moved from the city of Eau Claire. Through the years Richard enjoyed working with his hands, especially on woodworking projects or landscaping. He was a skilled bowler, having bowled on various leagues and was fortunate to have bowled a 300 game at Wagner’s Lanes in Eau Claire. At Christmas he also loved baking and giving away cookies. The rosettes that he made were especially good. In 2001 he moved to Buffalo City and with the easy access to the Mississippi River he spent many enjoyable hours pontooning down the river. At home and on the river he appreciated the peaceful pleasure of watching the birds.

He is survived by 2 sons, Richard (Samantha) Jackson, William (Rose) Jackson both of Eau Claire, 3 daughters, Vicky (Randy) Hayden of Eleva, Linda (Jim) Graves of Rock Falls, Mary Catherine O’Brien (Bill) of Eau Claire, 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary Hulback of Florida, Cheryl (Lauren) Fechner of Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Susan on Oct. 13, 1999, brother-in-law, Bob Hulback and Bob’s son, Brad Hulback.

Memorial services will be held Friday, June 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Raymond’s of Penafort Catholic Church, rural Fall Creek, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call 1 hour before services at the church.
