Lois Honadel
Lois M. Honadel, 72, of Augusta, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of April 12, 2014, at Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls, surrounded by her husband and daughters.

Lois Marlene Lambrecht was born July 16, 1941, the 3rd daughter of Alvin & Ella (Zillmer) Lambrecht. She was baptized on August 17, 1941, and confirmed on June 19, 1955, both at Grace Lutheran Church. She was a 1959 graduate from Augusta High School. She lived her entire life in Augusta and was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s/Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta.

On July 23, 1960, Lois was joined in marriage to Eilert Honadel at Grace Lutheran Church. They spent 53+ years as best friends. To this union five daughters were born. There were not many times you would ever see Eilert and Lois apart; they were always holding hands and were the perfect model of true love.

While the girls were growing up, Lois devoted her time to being the best mother she could be. She attended every school function they were involved with. In addition, she insisted that each of her girls take some type of music lessons. Several of her girls took piano lessons, with others deciding to be in the school band and choir.

Aside from raising her children, she held the position of organist for St. Peter’s Lutheran Church for 47 years. In addition, she held secretarial positions at various local employers (including the bank and the attorney’s office). She also worked in the school kitchen, and provided child care.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Eilert; daughters – Patti Nicholson of Eau Claire; Anita (Bob) Slate of Spokane Valley, WA; Donna (Tim) Wiese of Eau Claire; Barbara (Dan) Bilz of Milton; and Christine (Ben) Wiedenfeld of Eagan, MN; grandchildren – Aaron (Kristina) Nicholson, Sara (Kale) Brian, Joshua Nicholson; Ryan and Alex Slate; Abbie, Katie, and Sydney Bilz; and Jack and Fox Wiedenfeld; great-grandchildren – Anna Freid, Bentley Nicholson, and another due in September; sisters – Eleanore Richards and Fern Rosentreter, both of Augusta; sisters-in-law – Dorothy (Charles) Kaeding of Augusta and Jean Honadel of Fall Creek; 2 step-grandchildren – Matthew Nicholson and Tiffany (Jason Woodford) Zimmerman; and 5 step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents – Alvin and Ella; brothers-in-law – Norman Honadel, Lyle Richards, and John Rosentreter; and son-in-law – Rodney Nicholson.

Words cannot express the gratitude we have for the entire staff at ContinuUs, Rutledge Home, and St. Joseph’s Hospice. As we watched you work with Lois, we were struck by the gentleness, the concern, and the genuine love you shared with her on a daily basis. You talked, laughed, and cried with us as we walked through this journey with her and for that we are forever grateful.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at 1 PM at Grace Lutheran Church with burial in the West Lawn Cemetery, both in Augusta, with a lunch to follow.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Tuesday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to The Alzheimer’s Association/alz.org in Lois’ memory.
