Marguerite A. Fremstad of rural Osseo, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Osseo.
Marguerite was born Jan. 18, 1938 in Whitehall, WI, to Edwin and Adeline (Sedahl) Nelson. She married Hensel Fremstad on Feb. 25, 1960 in Pigeon Falls, and to this union 5 children were born. The couple farmed in rural Osseo until 1982, when they passed the farm onto their son. For many years Marguerite had worked as a certified nursing assistant at the Osseo Hospital and Nursing Home. Due to failing health she moved in with her son Glenn and his family, making her home with them for the past 6 years. Marguerite enjoyed being with her family, especially playing cards, shaking dice and teaching the grandchildren how to play along.
She will be dearly missed by her 5 children, Glenn (Linda) Fremstad of Osseo, Teresa (Ken) Piel of Augusta, Tammy (Larry) Johnson of Osseo, Adella Fremstad of Plano, Texas, Chris (Debi) Fremstad of Blair; 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; brother Edward (Pam) Nelson of Pigeon Falls; 3 sisters, Ardis (Aldred) Sexe and Florence (Maynard) Sexa both of Hegg, Jane (Merlin) Brown of Osseo. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Howard Nelson.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with a time of remembrance at 7:30 p.m.
