Kirk Bechtel
Kirk J. Bechtel, 75, of Brookfield, Wisconsin, formerly of Augusta, was born into Eternal Life on Thursday, May 29, 2014.
Kirk James Bechtel, son of Robert and Susan (Schiever) Bechtel was born July 5, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois. Kirk moved with his family to Augusta in 1945, where he attended grade school and graduated from Augusta High School in 1956. Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Kirk was united in marriage to Jeraldine Korth on September 22, 1957 at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta. After his honorable discharge, Kirk and Jerry settled in the Milwaukee area, where he was employed by Industrial Towel and Uniform until his retirement in 2000. Since 1967, Kirk had been an active member of Elm Grove Lutheran Church in Elm Grove. Kirk appreciated well kept classic automobiles and attending auto shows was one of his favorite pastimes.
Kirk will be deeply missed by Jerry, his wife of nearly 57 years; 4 sons, Brad and Julie Bechtel, Scott and Sue Bechtel, Mark and Beth Bechtel and Kris Bechtel all of the Milwaukee area and his beloved 10 grandchildren. He will also be missed by his brother, Charles “Chip” and Marsha Bechtel of Augusta; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth Henry of Cannon Falls, MN, Thomas Korth of Leesburg, FL, Lan (Korth) Fix of Blaine, MN; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Susan Bechtel, siblings, Mary Lou Bechtel, Edwin Bechtel and Virginia Henry, father and mother-in-law, Orville and Val Korth, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donn Korth and Bonnie Korth.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Elm Grove Lutheran Church, 945 Terrace Drive, Elm Grove, WI, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial with graveside services will be Monday, June 9, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta, with Pastor Jonathan Wessel officiating.
