Bruce Babiak
Bruce S. Babiak, 77, of rural Osseo, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire. 

Bruce Babiak, son of Alexander and Stephania (Kozoway) Babiak was born on July 22, 1936 in Abee, Alberta, Canada, and was raised in Mercoal, Alberta. While in Canada he married Verna Alasaker and to this union 4 children were born. After Verna passed away he married Carol Robertson Davy on April 19, 1986 at the Price Lutheran Church, rural Fairchild. Bruce and Carol lived all their married life in Garfield Township, rural Osseo. Bruce worked as a truck driver most of his life. When he was self employed he drove machinery between the United States and Canada. He had also driven in Alaska, and before retiring in 2001 he had driven for Marten Transport and Christianson Trucking. Over the years he had enjoyed fishing and fixing things for whoever needed help, driving the Amish and talking trucking. He especially enjoyed taking trips to Montana with Carol and spending time with his grandchildren.  

Due to failing health, since October of 2013 Bruce had been hospitalized in Rochester, Minnesota, before entering a nursing home facility in Mondovi.  

Bruce will be dearly missed by Carol his wife of nearly 28 years;
4 children, Brian Babiak of Ardrie, Alberta, Jacqueline Babiak of Edmonton, Alberta, Brad Babiak and Brenda Babiak both of Vancouver, British Columbia; 4 siblings, Natalka Fawliuk, Lucy Hawrysz, Bohdan (Fay) Babiak, Lil (Ken) Wild all of Canada; 3 stepchildren, Rodney Davy (Robin Schultz) of Lincoln, MT, Todd (Dena) Davy of Great Falls, MT, Amber (Kent) Chumas of Osseo; and 10 grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Verna, he was also preceded in death by his parents. 

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with Pastor Lewis Thompson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Alberta, Canada. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
