Roger Wolfgang
Roger D. Wolfgang, 83, or rural Fairchild, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 at the Pine View Care Center in Black River Falls.
Roger Dean Wolfgang, son of Ervin and Minnie (Bann) Wolfgang was born Nov. 14, 1929 in the Rodell area, rural Augusta. In 1940 his family moved to their farm just west of Fairchild off Highway 12. Roger farmed all of his life on the family farm with his parents and after his father passed away on Feb. 25, 1975 and his mother on July 5, 1980, he remained on the farm until entering the Augusta Area Nursing Home. In April of this year he moved to the care center in Black River Falls. Roger truly enjoyed his life on the farm , planting the crops and tending to his cattle. He will be remembered as a very kind, gentle and quiet man. As a infant he was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta and was currently a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fairchild.
Roger is survived by 3 nephews, Ervin, William and Mike Zaikis and 2 nieces, Susan Peterson and Hunter Lauren. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his sister Bernadine Zaikis.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with Pastor Ricky Bertels officiating. Burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery in Augusta. Friends may call two hours prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
