Lester Ulness
Lester R. Ulness, 85, formerly of Osseo, passed away early Sunday morning, January 13, 2013 at the Trempealeau County Healthcare Center in Whitehall.
Lester Robert Ulness, son of Ole and Polly (Phillips) Ulness was born April 10, 1927 in Strum, Wisconsin. He attended Chimney Rock Country School, rural Strum.
For most of Lester’s life he was employed by local farmers to tend to the dairy herd and do field work. He enjoyed the time spent on the farms, he also liked gardening and spending time with his family. Before needing nursing assistance he had lived in the trailer court in Osseo. Due to failing health, Lester entered the Pigeon Falls Healthcare Center before transferring to the Trempealeau County Healthcare Center in Feb. of 2008.
Lester is survived by his sister, Beverly Bertrang of Fairchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Polly and Ole Ulness both in 1968, and his siblings, Delores Wedward, Mildred Blom, Louise Kuhl, Raymond and Roy Ulness.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with burial in the Osseo Cemetery. Friends may call 1 hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
