Linda Raether
LindaLou (Larson) Raether, 64, of rural Augusta, died at her home early Wednesday morning, Oct. 23, 2013 in the loving care of her family and St. Joseph's Hospice.

LindaLou Marie Raether, daughter of Virgil and Frances (Frosch) Lybek was born Jan. 14, 1949 at her grandfather's farm in Plain, Wisconsin, Sauk County. Linda lived most of her life in Wisconsin. She was baptized into the Catholic faith in Loretta, confirmed at St. Aloysius Catholic Church and attended St. Aloysius Grade School in Sauk City. She also attended school in Blackhawk, before her family moved to Spring Green, where she attended her freshman year. She graduated from DeForest High School in 1967. LindaLou was united in marriage to Jim Larson in 1969 in DeForest, to this union her two daughters were born. Jim and LindaLou lived in Sun Prairie and Fort Atkinson, before moving their family to Augusta in 1980. After the couple divorced she married Duane Raether on Jan. 14, 1998 in Phillips, WI.

LindaLou's work career started in the accounting field, as a bookkeeper and teller at Home Savings and Loan in Madison, and then for Fort Savings and Loan in Fort Atkinson. She also worked as the office manager with Pfaflin Motors in Fort Atkinson. When she moved to Augusta she was employed by the Cenex Station in Foster. She eventually moved to Phillips, where she was employed as an operator and then as an assistant in human resources with Phillips Plastic. After her marriage to Duane the couple moved back to Augusta, and made their home on Duane's family farm in Bridge Creek Township. At this time she was transferred with Phillips Plastic to their Eau Claire location. LindaLou continued to work for Phillips Plastic after being stricken with cancer, but eventually had to leave their employment due to health reasons. From 2005 to 2010 she held her dream job, working as a seasonal laborer with Eau Claire County as a county park attendant. She started at Lake Eau Claire County Park and before her full retirement she was working at all the county parks. She truly enjoyed the work and working with all of the other park employees who treated her like family. She enjoyed her park experience because she loved being outside. Through the years tending to her flower and vegetable gardens brought her much enjoyment and then canning the fruits of her labor. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing with Duane and her family. She spent many hours with Duane remodeling their two farm homes and then searching for antiques to furnish them. Through her busy life she still found the time to sew many beautiful quilts for family and friends.

She will be deeply missed by Duane, her husband of 15 years; mother, Frances Frosch of Deforest; sister, Jeannie (Kelly) Henry of Morrisonville, WI; two daughters, JodyLou Marie (Steve) Carlson of Foster, ToniLee Ann (Todd) Stefanic of Moore, Idaho; four stepchildren, Shana (Dale) Kirchoff, Kimberly Sell all of Augusta, Julie (Tim) Lange of Cedar Lake, IN, Scott (Xiva) Raether of Katy, TX; five grandchildren, Chance, Colt and Damon Carlson, Ethan and Ember Stefanic; eight stepgrandchildren, Aaron, Zachary and Quinn Kirchoff, Allison and Alex Sell, Tiffany and Nicholas Lange and Zane Rather; sister; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and brothers, Danny and Dennis Frosch.
