She was baptized and confirmed at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Augusta, where she maintained her membership. Her church involvement was a very important part of her life, helping in any capacity she could. She attended grade school in Augusta, graduating from Augusta High School in 1946. While in high school Betty enjoyed playing the saxophone. Betty had a life long career as an accountant for the former Bertelson Accounting Firm in Eau Claire, working there until her retirement. In addition to her church involvements, she had served on the Augusta Nursing Home Board. She loved her peaceful life in Augusta, and enjoyed her many travels with her school time friend, Betty Kuckenbecker. Due to failing health she entered the Augusta Area Nursing Home in July of 2003.
