Clarence Dobrynski
Clarence C. Dobrynski, 80, formerly of Fairchild, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation in Eau Claire.

Clarence Carl Dobrynski, son of Nick and Anna (Strozk) Dobrynski was born June 13, 1933 on the family farm in Thorp, WI. Clarence started elementary school in Thorp, before his parents had an auction, sold the farm and moved their family to Chicago. He grew up with his brother, Leonard and four sisters, Marcella, Delores, Gladys and Patricia. Clarence finished elementary school at Anderson Grade School in Chicago, directly across from his home and enjoyed going home each day for lunch with his mother. He went on to attend Carl Shures High School in Chicago, but before graduation he left school to work in his uncle’s gas station. Clarence was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, where he was stationed in Washington and California, before he was shipped overseas to Japan and Korea. When he was honorably discharge in May of 1955, he returned to Chicago, to work at and eventually purchase his uncle Victor’s gas station on the corner of Chicago Avenue and Oakley Boulevard.

In the early 1970’s, Clarence moved back to Wisconsin, and found employment on the Traczek farm in rural Fairchild. He was also employed at Babe’s Village Bar in Fairchild, where he met Lylia “Babe Leonard and the two became long time companions. While in Fairchild, Clarence was a long time member of the Fairchild Volunteer Fire Department. Clarence and Babe enjoyed the camaraderie with their good customers, playing pool, shaking dice and playing 500 Rummy. Clarence and Babe enjoyed polish dances, dancing at the Fairchild dance hall and when bands came to the bar. Clarence also enjoyed playing baseball and watching the Chicago Cubs. He liked football, traveling, deer hunting, fishing and working on cars, especially Plymouths.

Clarence and Babe both entered the Clairemont Nursing facility in March of 2000.
Clarence was preceded in death by the love of his life, Lylia “Babe Leonard on June 22, 2013. He will be missed by family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 6, 2013 at noon at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with Pastor Jonathan Wessel officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Madison. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.Â
