Lyle Brunzlick
Lyle A. Brunzlick, 74, of Augusta, passed away at his home on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013.

Lyle Allen Brunzlick was born in the Town of Bridge Creek,
Eau Claire County to Rollie and Lillian (Witte) Brunzlick on Dec. 5, 1938. When Lyle was 4 years old his mother passed away and shortly after that his family moved to New Jersey. When he was of school age he returned to live with his father and brother Dan in Wisconsin. On Nov 21, 1945 Rollie married Ruby (Bosman) who became Lyle’s step mother and the family settled in Eau Claire before moving to Fairchild in 1953. Lyle finished high school in Fairchild, graduating in 1956. He enlisted and served 3 years in the U.S. Marines, starting with basic training in San Diego and served with the Marines in Lebanon. While Lyle was in the USMC the family moved to Augusta. After his honorable discharge he returned to Augusta and was united in marriage to Lorraine Gustafson on Sept. 30, 1962 in Eau Claire. The couple began their married life together in Eau Claire, where Lyle worked at Wilbur’s Texaco Station. Near the end of 1963 they moved to Hartford, Wisconsin, and Lyle began his trade as a tool and die welder in the southern part of Wisconsin; starting at Mercury Marine in Cedarburg. He also worked in this capacity at Capital Engineering in Milwaukee and at Wisconsin Tool Welding. He eventually owned and operated Quality Tool Welding Service and then worked at Ehlert Tool in New Berlin, before taking employment with Strohwig Industries in Richfield. When he retired he moved back to Augusta in 2000, making his home at the Augusta Country Apartments.

Over the years Lyle had enjoyed hunting in Wisconsin, riding snowmobiles and collecting native American memorabilia. He had a musical side, playing the baritone in school but was quite adept at the harmonica. Lyle had a interest in frontier history and enjoyed attending Rendezvous, searching for the various food that our forefathers lived on and was well trained in cracking a bull whip.

He will be deeply missed by his son David Brunzlick of Hartford; 2 brothers, Martin Brunzlick of Matamoras, PA, Arnold “Skeet” Brunzlick of Augusta, 3 half-brothers Randy (Ronda) Brunzlick of Fremont, CA, Rodney (Patty) Brunzlick of Augusta, Patrick (Laura) Brunzlick of Dayton, NV; one half- sister Rhoda “Dodie” Cassell of Augusta; former wife, Lorraine Brunzlick of Hartford; long time friends Margaret Voakes of Juneau, Vi Rehberg of Augusta; nephews and cousins. .
