Betty Brevik
Betty M. Brevik, 78, of Fairchild, WI, passed away Tuesday evening, March 26, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire, surrounded by the love of her family.

Betty Mae Brevik was born in Tulare, CA, on July 2, 1934, the daughter of Berry and Clara (DeArman) Searcy. She attended grade school in Dinuba, Ca, before moving to the Price area, rural Fairchild in 1949. Betty graduated from Fairchild High School in 1952, and on February 22, 1953, she was united in marriage to John Charles Brevik at the Brevik home in Osseo. In addition to raising her 7 children, Betty had worked at the Dutch Mill Restaurant, the Farmer’s Store, the Rustic Inn Café and the Sunset Nursing Home all in Fairchild. She had also worked at the Egg Company, the Corner Café and Super Value in Osseo, and at the Fairchild Auto Supply in Augusta.

Betty loved the outdoors and for 25 years she enjoyed her employment with the Eau Claire County Forestry Department, working as the Park Ranger at Coon Fork Park, just east of Augusta. Betty cherished the time she spent with her family and friends, taking camping trips and traveling. She was a wonderful baker and through the years made many delicious pies in addition to being an avid Packer and NASCAR fan. Her relaxing hours were spent working crossword puzzles, crocheting many beautiful afghans, and with great patience she had mastered the art of Norwegian Hardanger Embroidery.

Betty will be deeply missed and forever in the hearts of John, her husband of 60 years; 7 children, Mark (Carol) Brevik of Augusta, Charles (Pam) Brevik of Holmen, Cindy Brevik of Augusta, Pam Lee and Gary Mowery of Westby, John (Sue) Brevik of Westby, Wayne Brevik of Fairchild, Jennifer Brevik and Steve Pflieger of Fairchild; 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, brother Don (Dorothy) Searcy of Fairchild; sisters, Hazel Emert of Fairchild, and Margaret Weaver of Castle Rock, CO; and faithful canine companion, Abby.

She was preceded in death by her parents Berry and Margaret Searcy, Paul and Clara Weaver and
brother-in-law, Don Emert.
